A woman accused of using her mobile phone while driving near Wellesbourne is to stand trial charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Lynne-Marie Howden, of East Street, Long Buckby, Northants, was driving her Mercedes CLK220 on the A429 at Charlecote between Wellesbourne and Barford on November 19, when she was involved in a collision with the Ford Ka being driven by 55-year-old Patricia Frostick.

Ms Frostick, from Willington, near Shipston-on-Stour, had to be cut from the wreckage of her car and she later died from her injuries.

Ms Howden, 42, pleaded not guilty when she appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday.

Prosecutor Tom Schofield said it is hoped a defence expert's report on the collision will be ready within eight weeks.

There is also a report for the prosecution by a psychologist which will provide evidence on the distraction of using a mobile phone while driving.

The case, expected to last five days, was adjourned for trial. Ms Howden was granted unconditional bail.
