A woman accused of
using her mobile phone when she was involved in a fatal crash will
stand trial on a charge of causing death by dangerous driving.
Lynne-Marie
Howden of East Street, Long Buckby, pleaded not guilty at Warwick Crown
Court to causing the death of 55-year-old Patricia Frostick by driving
a Mercedes CLK220 car dangerously.
The fatal crash took place on the A429 at Charlecote, south Warwickshire, at about 8.30am on November 19 last year.
Ms
Frostick, from Willington, near Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire, was
driving towards Barford when her Ford Ka was in a collision with a
Mercedes driven by 42-year-old Howden.
She had to be cut from
the wreckage of her car and was taken by air ambulance to the
University Hospital in Coventry where she died.
The case was adjourned for trial, which is expected to last up to five days, and Howden was granted unconditional bail.
Both prosecution and defence were preparing reports, the court heard.
