SNOW RISK
Rain will move from the west and spread into the Govt Office West Midlands region later Tuesday night into Wednesday. There is a risk that the rain will turn to snow and give accumulations up to 5cm, possibly more in places. Confidence is low re this transition from rain to snow and hence we're not able to issue a warning as yet. However, an advisory has been placed on the Met Office web site. Due to the uncertainties the main message at the moment is be aware and await further updates.
HEAVY RAIN
Wet and windy weather is expected to spread across the region during Thursday and Thursday night. With the ground saturated in many areas this again raises the flood risk and todays Flood Guidance Statement indicates a low risk of flooding on Friday as a result of the overnight rain.
